Default Air cleaner

Looking to put an K and N air cleaner on my 2017 Softail sim was going to put the OEM on that fits the stock housing was wondering if I had to put a fuel pack or not?

If you change the air cleaner and not just the filter element then yes, you will need a tuner. Looks like you already changed the mufflers so that's doubly true. Also, I would far rather have the Power Vision tuner.

Here is a LINK to a quality performance air cleaner that uses a K&N filter element and fits the stock cover.

You will NOT need to do a flash or retune or have a tuner. That said, all Twin Cams, even bone stock, will run better with a good tune from a tuner. A lot of folks go with an XiED product when just changing air cleaner or exhaust, or both. It provides a nice improvement (even to bone stock) at a reasonable cost. LINK to one for your bike.

Here is a LINK to a good overview of the different popular tuning options, including pros and cons of each.

I personally like the Rushmore cover so I bought the DK 606 kit mentioned above. Very nice.

All of what DK Customs mentioned is useful info and worth while exploring.
When ever I consider any changes to my bikes that invludes performance changes, I always visit them first. Usually find my answers and products there.
But for this question relating to tuning, it is worth while mentioning that all motor vehicles released for USA roads fall under the EPA rules. And that is not always a good thing. Especially on air cooled big *** motors like a 103ci twin cam, or any other models the MoCo designed that didn’t include a radiator or more than just two valves per cylinder. Why I recommend we go beyond the default tune the MoCo sold the bike with immediately. Nip it in the bud and get a tuner before you chage air filter and exhaust. Those are inrvitable mods anyway LOL

IMO...get a tuner b/c once you swap a/c & pipes, there'll be future upgrades on your horizon. It's a good investment, if you plan to keep working on bike.
