Default Fatboy 2002 fuel cross over?

Previous owner had raised the tank, I think I like the original better so I will take it down. However, seems like the cross over line will then hit the rocker box? Did he put a longer line or do I need another route?

He extended it. If it's in good shape can just trim to fit.
While u have it off replace with new line from auto parts store.
No need to re-route.

Judging from the pic , it looks like the hose that was used to extend is to big , I would replace it with a smaller diameter hose . I agree with o/d , just buy some new hose and the right size clamps from an auto parts store .

I ran a braided line for a while.
never tried quick disconnect.

How I've been draining tank when needed.

run the tank as low on fuel as possible.
Use 2 vice grips pliers to pinch off line on both sides.
Then cut line In half at center.
Plug one end of line with 5/16" bolt and clamp.

I then put a spare fuel valve from a snowblower into the left side hose, remove vise grips and open fuel valve.
No spillage.
Replace line with new

I put a quick disconnect on mine. Not as easy of a task as I thought but works great with draining gas. My connect does not flow gas when I unhook it so I can pull the tank when it is full or drain it whenever
