The bike is a softail, not sure the year. It’s an Evo engine that does not match the title VIN
Also, it’s a chain final drive.

I also wonder about that as I don't remember VIN numbers being in that location either.

From the oil leaks showing on it, I'm almost positive its a Harley-Davidson engine.

The stars stamped before and after the VIN were put there to mark the beginning and end of the VIN. Also as a deterrent to thieves, making it harder for them to illegally change the VIN.
