Default Rear Wheel Size

Hi,

I have a 2011 Fat Boy Low that I want to change the rear wheel to match the front spokes 21 in.

I have the option of a 16.3, 18.3 and 18.4, what is the difference in them? Look and ride wise?

Thank you,

E.

Size is one thing, 3 "and 4" width and since you got already a 21" on the front I would go for 18*4" on the rear. The handling won't change or not much because of this and it's more
about the looks. What do you like, a larger 18 "rim or a smaller 16" rim, that is something you have to determine yourself.

18x4 and you can put a 160/18 with room to spare. A 170 will go in there by changing the inside fender nuts to capture nuts with room. The aspect ratio is lower on the 18” tires allowing more room under the 7” wide fender.. A 150/18 tire looks out of place being undersized on a Fat Boy.

Excellent, thank you for that info.

I'll google some pics to get a view but leaning on the 170.

I got a 170 -70-16 Shinko under my Train with out much work. 18” wheel is the way to go. Wish I had done it instead of lithe 16.

If so then a 4" will be way to narrow, for example a 170 is the max on a 4" it would need a 4,5" to get his full width. So for a 200 you need à 5,5" or 6" to get his full potentional.
