Default stage 1 exaust

Hello im a fairly new rider and was wonder about a stage one upgrade when i bought my bike it had vance&hines slip on exhaust i was wondering if that would work or do i need a whole new exhaust pipes

Welcome to the forum, what model and year would help, but for a softail older then a 2017 the slip on mufflers would be part of a stage-1 upgrade, the catalytic converters are in the stock mufflers, hope this helps.

It’s a 2020 soft tail standard so the slipons will work just fine

Yes, if you truly have a 2020 Softail, then slip-on's are fine as the bike no longer has CAT...they're in the pipe(s).

This makes no sense.
It DOES have a CAT...in the pipes, not the mufflers. This means you need to either get new pipes, or bust the cats out of the stock ones unless you want the restrictive, performance robbing heat of cats.

You should post this in the 2018+ softail section, this is the section for 2017 on down, a lot of changes in the 2018+ models. Good luck with it.
