I bought what the title says is a 1999 HD FXSTC, but in reality, it's a Santee frame with a Harley 1340 cc engine. The title says it's a S&S, not even sure. Anyway, it's beautiful has 5000 miles and runs great. I need a backrest badly. I have replace the piece of board they call a seat that came with it with a Mustang touring wide. Any ideas on a backrest, not sure what the hell would fit. It's a solo seat and has a luggage rack where the passenger seat would normally be.

You might research/call Grasshopper backrests for information on their products.

Welcome to the world of a custom motorcycle....

Santee frame, with a Harley 1340cc engine that might actually be an S&S engine....? Adding to the confusion, there were several different Santee frames available... I have no idea if their seat pan areas were the same, or even compatible, between the various frame options..

I suspect you will be hard pressed to find accessories where "fits Santee frames" will be listed on the fitment page...

I don't know who makes/handles Santee frames these days, or if they are still available.... but if you could find a Santee frame dealer, they would be your best resource to find what seats/backrests may fit your frame.... The backreat may require a custom made piece...

If the current backrest is a production model, try to see if it has any markings to figure out what it's from/for... If it's custom, take the measurements you need and search around or find a shop to fab one up for you..

Good luck..
