Good to hear nothing got scratched. I've heard mixed feelings about these deer whistles. They're nothing new, so you've probably seen them. I live in a rural area and crossing animals are one of my fears, so I slapped one on under my headlight. I guess I have to say it works b/c I've never encountered any while riding, but never did before I put it on either....??

 

I used to drive when I was on the Fire Department.
SOP was to keep going and not even try to hit the brakes for deer or other critters.
I've had deer jump in front of the engine on a two lane road while running code (lights and siren) during the day.
I don't think those game whistles really work that well. Just my opinion.

 

I don't blame anyone for not being sold on game whistles and I suspect they won't be as effective in a normally busy environment that's full of man made noises, but if they do emit what is a unique and audible sound to the animals, in quieter environments I can only assume the critters would become aware of this sound approaching them. And again, they're cheap and the ones I have are simple to install and easy on the eyes so, I'll have them.
