when I reinstall my shocks is there only a bolt that goes on the front of the rubber bushings and that is what controls the height or do you use a bolt on both sides to adjust the height?

You need to have a nut on both sides of the bushings to properly mount the shocks just like it was when you took it apart.

Try this www.fatbillscustoms.com

this kit works perfectly. I had the same lowering kit on my 2oo5 night train. It gave me the
look and hight i wanted. There was no problem with the *** end bottoming out what so ever.
I stongly do advise you to have them instald by the harley dealer!!! Im not sure but i think i
lowerd my bike 1.5 or 2 inches. Please forgive my spelling, and enjoy that new bad *** lowerd
look.

The rear bolt can be a hassle, but other than that it's a pretty straight forward deal.

i bought the harley kit. stealership instal.
i think it cost me 220 cdn.
BUT covered under HD warranty for 7 yrs
which covers anything that could possibly happen to bolts and /or wiring in fender from being to low.
and also i dont have a press or stand for my bike. and job that should take 45 min will end up taking 2 days.
back and forth to shop for press.
oh well i'd pay it again too.
and the ride is rough but most people arent doing it to improve ride, its a look.
just my 2 cents.

i bought this arlen ness lowering kit... it came with everything for the front and rear witha new kickstanddesigned for a lowered bike... i installed it myself but i had to use a friends press for the rear shocks.lowering the front and rear reallyimproved the look of the bike and did NOT affect ride quality at all because instead ofputting in shorter springs, you're just adjusting where the springs sit. bought my kit from eastern performance ($139) and got free shipping... good luck...
How hard was it to put the fork dampeners in? I'd be interested in this kit for my Fatboy.

Fork kits are perhaps even easier than the rear shocks since you can get to everything. You simply lift the bike to get the weight off the front wheel, pull the wheel off, drain and pull off the tubes, disassemble them, swap the springs, dampeners, and then reassemble.

Of course you must pay attention to the torque settings and the fork oil level (simple measuring cup works good), but beyond that it's pretty straight forward.
