Heritage Classic 2 up
Yes , it does work ok as a tourer - just did a big trip with wife ( had the sissy bar rack and bag for all her goodies ) BUT if I was going to do it regularly I would definitelytrade my heritage fora bagger for its handling abilities under a heavy load. The adjustable air suspension , and cornering are far more superior than a heritage under load.
ps as I have only 1 bike I choose the heritage as the best all rounder and luv it.

I agree. So does the wife. But it was better for her after I added the larger seat and taller backrest pad.

I heard so much negative talk about 2 up and the Heritage its crazy. My Heritage rides BETTER two up then it does by myself. It handles better I think. I went a mountain with some NASTY turns and I had no problems at all and actually liked the extra weight better. The two guys following me was supprised how aggressive I was two up but it was no big deal at all.
Heritage not a good 2 up bike is a MYTH!!! I was thinking about getting a Ultra well no need too. I have fell back in love with my ride. With the Ulta Touring bag and a rack I will carry as much as the Ultra if not more.
i think it is a bit silly to suggest that it does BETTER than a bagger when touring ..... it doesn;t ! it is competant in its own right but does not really compare under load. me and missus are 400 pounds , add say 60 pounds for luggage and I am telling you that there is no way it can travel as well as a bagger with adjustable ride height , clearance etc etc... a competant rider 2-up with luggage on a bagger will out dothe samecompetant rider on a heritage. don;t get me wrong , I love my heritage and wouldn;t go to a bagger unless I was spending most of my time touring 2 -up ( and that will never happen )

What brand of air ride did you put on your Heritage? I have been thinking about putting one on my 06 Heritage because a few times I have had the stock shocks bottom out. My main interest in the air ride is to make the ride more comfortable for my wife first and formost. Thanks for your help. Dixiebob in Texas
