it has been done before...16 inch fronts and 17 inch rears were used in the 80's on a number of sportbikes to quicken up the steering. I don't know if it is the reason the crossbones steers so easily, but something is working right. Does a 21inch front and 16inch rear look crooked to you??

ORIGINAL: Asphalt Cowboy

Why would the Motor Co.give the XBones a 17" wheel out back, and a smaller 16" up front? I'm one of those guys who can tell when a picture is crooked on the wall, so maybe it's just me.....

I didn't take my new Bones on long ride abot 80 miles. Great ride except I changed the stock tractor seat with the new brawler seat. Very comfortable. I hear from some guys the stock seat pushes them forward too much. Try try the stock seat. If not comfortable try the brawler looks good and comfy. They olso make a passenger seat to match the brawler. good luck with the XBones. Ride safe
GINO I WAS SPEAKING WITH "SARGE4LIFE" HE SAID THE BRAWLER SEAT SAT HIM 3" LOWER, DO YOU FIND THE SAME SITUATION AND HOW MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE IS IT

I WAS ALSO CONSIDERING TAKING A LOOK AT THE POSSIBILITY OF A FATBOY SUNDOWNER 2 UP SEAT
ANY THOUGHTS

Comfort... My wife has no issues with her rear seat set up. She didn't like it all that much until I put the sissy bar on, but now she's happy as can be. Keep in mind, she's 30 and thin, so she may be less likely to feel any discomfort...

My wife is 30 and thin and all she does is bitch about my setup. (not the backrest in the pic, she bitchs about the nice big comfy one)

Hey Scott, The brawler does sit youlower. I think the brawler is alot more comfortable. I'm 5'9 and find the brawler a better fit for me. I might have been mistaken about the passenger pillion. Not sure if they make one for the brawler. Thought I saw one some where. If your looking for comfort for long rides and comfortable passenger. The sundowner might be the way to go. It has a deep bucket design. Not sure wich seat is lower though. If your looking for solo seat with good comfort and looks. Try the brawler. Will post pics of bones with brawler seat when I get them. Take a look and tell me what you think. Let me know what seat you decide on. Eventually have to get a passener pillion or two up for the ladies. Hope this helped. Ride hard and Ride safe

Scott Did some reach they do make passenger pillion for the brawler. It's not in the parts catalog. It's in the spring supplement. The brawler passenger is 9 inches wide and the sundowner is 12.5 inches wide. Just some info that might help.

The Bones is pretty cool but I really like the Bob. I haven't had an opportunity to ride either.

i've done some moderate non-stop runs on my bones, about 125-150 miles without any issues with the seat. actually feels better after riding it awhile, maybe breaking it in. my wife likes her seat too, but its on her bike...lol...don't have a pillion, like the look of the solo. i think removing the stock seat and replacing it with a sundowner, etc. kills the look of the bike. imo...good luck and let us know which way you go. stay safe and enjoy the ride...

Well I ended up getting the Cross Bones. Pics in another thread. Love the bike, very comfortable. The passenger seat should be installed this week sometime
and i'll see how she likes it. I am in love with the stock seat so I don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

I just got a Cross Bones last week and went on a 580 mile round trip ride. A little sore and a little tired but tons better than my last bike. Before I bought this I had a Big Bear Choppers Sled. I decided to get rid of it because I wanted something more reliable and more comfortable. Out of all the HD models, the xbones is the ONLY one that peaked my interest.

This is my first HD and so far so good. I miss the "rock star" like reactions I got from the chopper but all things considered this is the better bike. It has been a big adjustment going from something really "new school" to really "old school".

I really never cared to much for HDs because as a company, they lack design innovations and the style seems to never change but they have the reliability. The first time they try to do something out of the ordinary like the Rocker, they totally screw it up. The problem is they are bound too much by trying to take their existing parts and rearranging them to make a "new model." A different frame and tank would have done wonders for the Rocker.

Even though the Cross Bones is all the same old parts just rearranged, it is the first bike in a long time from HD that has that "cool" factor. The Nightster is kinda cool but way too small for me. The other so-called "dark customs" really don't do it for me. At least with the Cross Bones, the style is complete. Everything on the bike fits the style.

I am curious as to what it looks like with a brawler seat so if you have any pics available I would like to see them.

I'll get some pics of the new one up soon but in the mean time, here's the old bike:

Picked up my dark blue pearl Xbones last Saturday, and finally the weather is enough for me to ride. So that being said, I am very happy with the bike. I had the dealer install V&H short shots staggered, power commanderIII, and standard SE air kit....when I really cracked the throttle for the first time in 1st gear, I wasn't expecting to slide back on the seat....lol Caught me by surprise but I love it. I will post some pics soon.
