I have a badlander seat on a 2004 softail standard the passenger seat is 6" not real comfortable for wife, I am looking for the widest seat available for my bike first harley so I am not that knowledgeable in the seat department and suggestions would be great. Thanks

 

rpmp3, Check out the Mustang seats. They have a few different styles to choose from. If you want to stay with the same look you have now check out the "Day Tripper" seat. Sort of the same look, but (no pun intended) the rear is 8" wide. I use the original Studded Seat. When wifey wants to ride I just slap on the rear seat. See the link to Mustang below.

Get rid of the wife...

Harley has a few seats and the jp cycles catalog has a ton of choices too

 

I have an 07 Softail custom and put the Sundowner seat from Harley on it.It was a bit taller for my wife so I bought some passenger footpeg extentions and it worked perfect. The mustang seats are nice, I almost bought one but the sundowner was less expensive.

 

I have also bought the Sundowner seat for the wife and it seems to work, but like commander c said it sits the wife up a bit taller. If I rememeber right the passenger seat is 12.5".

 

I tried the Mustang passgenger was wider but wife was not comfortable. Found a local leather worker and she took the stock seat pan and put better foam reshaped the seat and covered it in elephant hide. The wife was happier and the seat work was actually cheaper than the Mustang.

Had the same problem, found a used corbin dual tour, I don’t know if it is the widest seat available but the wife is very happy with it. I really like its comfort, two weeks ago I put 700 miles on the seat in one day.

I bought the Mustang Wide Vintage for my 06 FXSTI....The main seat is 17" wide and the passenger seat ....dont quote me on this is around 13" 0r 14" wide, Very comfortable seat
