A friend has said he wants to buy my 07 SG, and I've been coveting the Crossbones since it was unveiled.

So I'm wondering, is it worth the hassle of looking for an 08, or just hold out and order an 09? Barring any big changes in the 09s or exceptional stumble-across deals on an 08, of course.

Guess I just don't really know much about how the dealerships go about getting bikes. If it's not on the floor, and I'm sure the factory switched over to building 09's months ago, how do they find them? Is there any pressing $$ need for them to dump leftover '08s?

And more to the point, people seem to be snapping up Bones as soon as one hits the floor\\; the two local good dealers around here said they've never had one last more than 24 hours before someone buys it. So is it even likely I'd find a leftover 08 out there?

 

They said the 22nd of this month the 09's will be out. So wait till Monday and see. There are still plenty of Bones around Austin, TX has 10-15 of them now. Im waiting to see what changes come also.

 

I would wait, they come out next week, see the changes if any.
My dealer in MD has 3 on the floor, I think at this point everyone waits.

Is there even any confirmation that there will be an '09 XBones?

 

There isnt any confirmation on any models yet. Just no Wide Glide and XL 883 and one Vrod. Form what I have heard. We shall see Monday.

 

If you have your heart set on the Olive Pearl color, track down an 08. It's discontinued (at least for the Cross Bones) for 09.

 

Yeah... I love my Olive Green.... don't see a whole lot of them around... as far as an 08 vs 09... kinda of a hard choice... 08 of course is the first year for this bike.... in the long run will it be worth more??? (I don't think so)... Then again... if you are buying an 08 the bike is already a year old so you're gonna be that much longer being upside down on it...
