Default Shifter Sticks - Please Help

OK, so here's my problem. Whenever it gets hot, which is everyday, my shifter peg sticks when I shift. Which means when I down shift, I have to tap it up and when I shift up it needs a tap down to get back to center. I rode it to work this morning and it's only 77 degrees so it rode perfect, but I guarantee when I go to lunch it'll be sticking. I've read somewhere else that someone claims this is from using synthetic oil (which I just switched to) while others claim it's just a gunk buildup on the shifter bushings. I know the spring is still there because it does return. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

spray some good syn.lube into the pivot and work it in. I use rem oil on mine and it works great.

Default Cheap plastic bushing!

I experienced the same. Cruising down the highway and after every shift, I had to tap the shifter peg back down. I was actually on my way to HD, so I when I got there, I asked them to look at it.

Simply, they just honed it out with a drill bit and re-lubed it. It has been perfect ever since.

I took off the shifter, lubed it up and now it's running cleaner than ever. Thanks for the help!

Remove the shifter clean it really good lube it up and reinstall. It has happend to me twice, takes about 20-30 minutes. Typically happens to me after riding in the rain for an extended period of time. In Germany, that is often..
