Stripped Toe shifter
My toe shifter fell I tightened it and it fell again
I took it apart on Saturday and it was stripped everything was closed so I was in a bind
I took them both off and turned my heel shifter forward
I want to replace both of those and the shifter rod that they connect to and the part that it connects to below the linkage
Can anyone help with part numbers?
I looked in my book and I can't find anything on these
Thanks for the help

Make sure to check the back connection to the shift linkage that goes into the primary. If that strips you have to remove a bunch of crap. Make sure that back linkage is tight. Cost me 700 to have it replaced on the road...I wasn't happy.
Good luck

That same thing happened to my bike on Saturday.
I was riding up to Big Bear, CA and when I went to down shift the toe shifter was all the way forward. So we took my extended heel shifter off, flipped it up and I ran that way the rest of the afternoon. I stopped by the dealer and got the shaft (pun intended) and started looking for another toe shifter. Then I remembered my OEM heel shifter. It was the same as the toe shifter except that it's threaded from the other side. I figure I'll just run an extra long bolt all the way through and secure it with a nylock nut.
That's a Harley for you.

its not just a harley thing in the 70" and 80"s i went through many shifters so many that to this day i carry a pair of vise gripps, they will kill whats left of the shaft but will get u home, even used them on a broken clutch cable clamped on the end and removed the clutch lever they sat right in the perch.
