IMO you dont have to, but in reality, if it makes you feel better to change it out, then go ahead, a few dollars to give yourself a piece of mind might not be bad.

As long as your shed is warm and dry, i think you will be fine for next year. MOISTURE IS A KILLER, and the result from being in a wet and damp enviroment. I also change out my fluids before storage because of the ACIDITY that occurs from the natural breakdown of the oil itself during use. IF THE SHED IS WARM AND DRY , i believe you are ready to go come spring time. IF IN A WET DAMP ENVIROMENT, sure change oil out before you ride in spring. GOOD LUCK

You're supposed to change the fluids before storing the bike. You're bike will be fine 'till spring. Cover it with a quality bike cover, Stabil in the gas tank, and trickle charge hooked up to the battery and you're all set.

I just bought a new battery not a month ago and dont want it to go bad should i hook up a trikle charger to it? If so what is the process just leave it on all the time? at lowest setting?

bL33d Yes , plug it in immediatley. Especially now with the cold weather. I have the harley trickle charger, and use it all year round. Soon as i get back from a ride , just plug it in. Mine has no settings, you just plug in and it charges according to the voltage. Once reaches 12 volts cycles off, goes below certain pre -set voltage cycles on. It acts exatly like a thermostat, which is what it is. You will do no harm to battery as long as it stays at peak voltage. Its when you drop below voltage , that the damage can occur.
