Primary fluid changes
I've got a question for those more experienced riders out there. For those that have to store your bike for the winter, do you change the primary fluid before, after or both?I know what the recommended intervals are but if you change your oil before storing, should you change the primary fluid too?
Not sure if it's a dumb question or not, but I just thought I'd ask. Thanks for the help.

In wet sump machines such as my old intruder 1400, I changed the oil prior to winter storage in Maine. THis is primarly due to the amout of blow-by or by-productsresulting from combustion. These can play havoc with an engine over the winter months. I dont think the primary would be a concern but for sure the engine oil is.
Also, starting you bike over the winter periotically does more harm due to build up condensation inside the motor. I run some fresh gas with fuel stabil through the engine, change the oil just after as it is warm, remove the plugs and spray a little fogging oil into the jugs, disconnect the battery, put her on a jack and cover with a standard white sheet.
Spring pull outis nothing more than connectingthebattery and starting the bike (assuming it is charged).
