Default How much different are they?

I've been serching for quite some time now for a good used service manual for my 99 Fatboy. Ya, I'm trying to save a few bucks. Anyway, I never see any for 99 models but I see a few here & there for 97-98s & 2000s. How much difference would there be as far as the basic stuff. I don't plan on tearing my bike completely down or anything, but would like to be able to do some of the basic stuff myself. Would a 97-98 or a 2000 manual get me by?

A 97 or 98 would be basically the same. A 2000 would be useless since it is for a Twin Cam with other upgrades besides the motor, like brakes.

Thanks grubby. I'm currently watching a 97-98 manual on ebay. That's why I asked the question on here. I really couldn't see why I couldn't use a 97-98 manual rather than wait for a 99, but just wanted to make sure.

Wow, that 97-98 service manual sold for over $45.00 & it was very used. I can have a brand new one for around $58.00. I'm watching a 99 manual now, so I'll see how that one goes.

That kind of stuff brings big bucks. I had an owners manual for an 87 Jag XJS that I sold on ebay about 7 years ago for over $90.00.
