Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows of a manual for genaral info on Softails. Something similar to Fix my Hog but in a written format. Shop manuals are a little over my head at this point. I'm a new owner and want something to start learning about my '95 Fatboy.
I would say to get the factory service manual anyway. It may be a bit deep for the newbe, but everything is in there and as you get more and more familiar with the bikes workings it will become clearer and more useful than some of the stupid "for Dummy's" style books out there. The people who get that type of book generally become disalusioned in time with what they "don't" tell you and wind up getting the real service manual, so why bother buying things twice.
Some of the 'aftermarket' manuals cover basic items but they tend to get too generic for me. I like the details. So I feel that 'bad information' is worse than 'no information'. Get the factory manual for your model. You'll be happy with it. It is very in depth with a lot of stuff us regular folks don't need to deal with but the rest is worth the money.
