I must admit however that I would love to visit the states. Its all that Hollywood we get bombarded with
. But its also the birthplace of the Harley....I will get there one day.
Ummmm.....roll on Saturday when I get my Heritage!
I am off to Sydney again friday, get back saturday and run to the dealers to get the bike, can't wait....

Saturday's almost here!
You're right, howartthou. I've watched TV down under and there is a very poor depiction of the US to you blokes from "our" Hollywood. Poco is right, the Hollywood flakes need to be sent elsewhere but not to OZ.
The worst thing about Australia is that it takes too long to get there! Great food, great wine, and of course the pretty Shelia's.
I'll be thinking about you Saturday while you're enjoying riding in your summer as we are forecast for a cold rain here in the Dixie part of the US. My Fatboy will just have to wait for a better day.
Cheers,
Wolf

Ummm, no thanks Poco (Skip), I am not into Hollywood movies anymore. They are too much of the "same old, same old" just with a different cast of actors, or recycled old ones! These days I am happy to trade special effects for a real storyline and deep meanings. I liked "Motorcycle Diaries"...But no, Holywood can stay where it is but I think Harley Davidson should move here
.Saturday did come thanks, and I posted an account of my first rides. Now whenever I am off the bike I am thinking of my next rides...tis bliss though and alot better than waiting 6 weeks for a bike to be shipped...

Yup Aus is great and there is no shortage of spunky chicks
.Ummm...about the weather. We just a some freak wheather here. Its been raining for days in the middle of summer. I have to wait for the weekend for the sun to come back. I know that when it does it will be back with a vengance with lost of glorious sunny days to follow. And I will be riding...and taking pics which I will post in a few weeks.

Yup, the rest of the world is living in the past
.
HarleyBiker, I think that the TC88B is a good motor, That's what I have on my Deuce, I do only have 14000 miles on mine with no problems but I can tell you that I ride with alot of other people and they have 30000 to well over 100000 miles with out having any problems, But I do also agree with Clem that it would not be the motor for drag raceing due to the balance mech. issue, after all you are suppose to be cruising, enjoying the scenery and besides If your going too fast no one will see you anyway. LOL
Hope's this helps 01 Wilddeuce

I think I will give you my thoughts on the 88B engine...
I had to replace the cams with gear driven from S&S...the tensioners were shot at 58,000 on my 02 FLSTS and I caught this just in time. This is a costly replacement if you ask me. While in Sturgis last year my bike got this strange vibration on the left side of the engine. This would come and go. I now have the engine off the bike and have discovered that the gear that turns the counterbalancers is a press fit onto the flywheel. This gear is moving back and forth and is causing the problem. I will tack weld this gear a 3 and 9 oclock to do the fix. Lucky for me I have 4 bikes and do my own work so this is not a real problem.
HD is fixing this problem with new flywheels and balancer components...they do not make this a public issue. I feel they should key this gear but what do I know...for most of you folks out there that only ride to bike night and back home this may not be a problem...If you ride 30k a year, you purchased the wrong scooter.
This is the last twin cam B engine that I will own...
If anybody would like to see photos of this junk engine design...drop me an email.
