Stick around, you'll learn a lot here. There are a LOT of really good and decent people willing to share ideas and tips.
Just be aware that sometimes we can get a little "funny" with responses, so don't take anything that at first appears to be derogatory too seriously. 99.9% of the time what you think might be derogatory is really something of an inside joke to those of us who have been around a while. But like I said, stick around in time you'll get it, and no doubt give it too.
And you'll learn a lot about your bike in the bargain.

PS Does your screen name "10ring" mean you like to put small groups of holes in paper at long range? Personally, I'm more of an X-ring fan.

10ring sounds like archery to me anyway I did muffs and air and went with a Dobeck Performance tuner(240.00) being how it dosnt get married to the ECM,just need to dyno it now and I can remove everything and put back to stock if I ever sell or trade it......I dont ride as hard as I used to so didnt think the extra cash for a PC ect was worth it,now if they had FI 20-30 yrs ago He11 ya I would of put the big bucks into it....its bad when your two baggers(carbed) can kick your softails azz.
Iam wakeing the 06 up now so I think the baggers will get left behind now hehehe...

Actually, we shoot fast and from close range with a handgun. Our state mandated qualification target doesn't have an X ring, but it has a large "anything inside of this ring counts" ring, and then a much smaller ring where most of the vital organs are warehoused. We call it the 10-ring, or the A zone. I was the top-gun shooter in my academy class, and, unlike most states, we were required to shoot at distances up to 50 yards.
Thanks for the welcome!

I used to shoot in the competition NRA slow, timed, and rapid pistol course and the timed and rapid targets have the X-ring.
I still use the targets, got a ton of them around the garage someplace. I use them for playing around with rifles at much farther than the standard 50' handgun competition ranges.

You can see the X-ring in these, 10 shots at 50 yards with my 'hot-rodded' 10/22.

or same gun 10 shots at 75 yards.

Obviously they were shot from a sandbag rest on a bench. I just ain't good enough to do that kind of shooting off hand. Especially with a handgun, but I'll bet I could do fairly well on a police silhouette style target with one of my .357Mags.

What can I say, a lot of tinkering and a carbon fiber barrel, does a bullet good. The gun does the hard work, I just had fun building it and now pulling the trigger whenever I get the chance.
It was fun to make and someday I gotta sit down and make another one, this time in .17 maybe.

It should be fun to throw lead down range that weighs about as much as a firefly. I want to build up a 10/22 but Brownells already gets too much of my allowance.

I am only too familiar with your "plight". Brownells, Midway, Valquartsen, and several other places including a local ammo distribution place here in town have gotten so much of my money over the years. I probably could have paid cash for a full custom bike by now. With enough left over to buy an enclosed trailer to tow it out of the snow belt.

If you haven't bought everything for a stage 1 upgrade yet, might make a suggestion. FuelMoto is one of our forum sponsors and great people to do buisness with. I just finished the stage 1 upgrade and love the way my bike is now performing. Jamie at FuelMoto is really a great guy and can answer all your upgrade questions. I think they have a total stage 1 package, mufflers, A/C, and the PC III mapped for your bike around $600.

It worked great on my 08 Ultra. The great thing is if you make any changes they can send you a new map for the changes you make. If you get the sert you will have to have the HD shop re-tune for each change $$$$.
