Default flush mount fuel cap on Heritage Classic - How hard to install?

Have been thinking about getting myself a set of the black flush mount fuel caps for my black heritage classic (2009 model) (EFI of course).

How hard are they to install? Anyone done a photo installation intruction/walk-through?

thanks

shame I was hoping someone might have something...just curious whether it is an easy exchange on the left side with the fuel gauge or if there is a whole bunch of wiring to do

Its a real no brainer install. The 'hard' part is getting the new wires through the tank. But if you tape a piece of string to the old wires when you pull them out. You can use that same string to pull the new wires down through.
Make sure the top of the tank is clean and wax free around the gauge and gas cap before you stick the plastic outer ring down or it might come loose on you later.
The only real wiring is putting the new plug together and pulling or cutting one wire out of the speedo connector. For that your going to have to take the one nut off to lift off the dash.
Do a search, in the last week someone wrote out the instructions for another guy to put on the stock 'looking' LED gage. The procedure is identical except for the part about adding the trim ring for the flush version you have.

I would love to get a set for my Cross Bones, but from what a lot of the forum members write, there are a lot of problems with the led's going bad on the harley flush mount caps, so I decided to hold off from buying them untill i here the problem is taken care of. Just my .02 cents worth.

I don't think the new flush mount gauges have the "low fuel" wire that goes to the speedo anymore....
so it's an even easier install!
