Cool Lowering a 06 heritage

I would like to lower my 06 heritage about a inch. I can sit and be flatfooted but a inch would feel better. I don't want to loose my ride or bottom out when my wife rides. What does everyone suggest? Give me what brands or kits you use. Thanks

If money is not an issue, people like air shocks. I lowered my Fatboy with Deluxe shocks - lowered the rear 1 inch, seat about 3/4". You can buy them used with low miles, mine only had 300, at a very discounted rate.

Thanks for the info but I'm thinking about lowering both front and rear. Does your bike drive alot different after lowering just the rear?

I used the progressive adjustable studs in the rear. I can raise or lower my bike in less than 10 min. keep her slammed for cruzin around town and raised up for touring and comfort.

FYI, when slammed it rides like $hit, but looks good!

Then get a 1 inch fork lowering kit as well. Lowering the rear 1 inch changes handling a little. Lots of twisties and country roads here and it actually is easier, better on windy roads. But, it is a little weird when doing very slow tight turns like u-turns or in a gas station. The bike wants to kinda "fall" into the turn a little bit. Personally, I like the change...

Lowering front and rear should handle the same as stock or better with lower center of gravity. Although, you will be more prone to scrape.

I used an Arlen Ness kit which is a shock rebuild. Drops the rear 2 inches and you can still adjust pre-load for passenger. Used a HD kit on the front for a 1 inch drop.

This is the kit I used to slam the bones. Easy to install if you have some skills.

I got the one that SAS has as well. Just came in today. I'll try and see where i am happy with it between 1 to 1.5 drop. And for the photo's slam it down 2".

Default Lowering Heritage

How about just a different seat? We put a Le Pera Maverick on our '05 FLSTC and it lowers it just fine for me(5:10).
