Angry The handlebars are not straight !

My wife got an 09 Softail Deluxe about a month ago and after she rode it she said something about the handlebars not being straight. I rode the bike and I didn't think much of it.
She mentioned it again last night since we had went for a long ride yesterday and I thought I would take a look at it.
It is true.
The risers are not straight. The right one comes back more than the left one and the handlebars are not straight. Even with the wheel turned you can see they are not straight with the forks.

It is not dangerous, but it does annoy my wife.

We are definately taking the bike back to the dealer to let them fix this.

My wife keeps asking how could they not notice that when they did the dealer prep?

My Night Train had a slight twist to the bars. When it went in for the first service I was going to metion it to the service guy, but he caught it with out me mentioning it. I was happy they noticed it, as it was nothing major but looking down the front end from the top of the bars it was crooked just a little.

They said it was just a 'line up and tighten right' issue, that can be common if not checked and done right.

My bars appeared to be about an inch out when I picked up the bike, rode it 100 yards down the road and took it back.Simple realign jod and it has been OK although I would say they are still a bit out. Dont know if it has anything to do with the movement in the rubber bushings?

The handlebars will turn crooked because of the rubber bushings. Just turn the wheel all the way to the left or right and then pull the bars straight. My 39" beachs were always crooked with the stock rubber bushings. I'd have to straighten them about every ride. I finally swapped to poly bushings and haven't had a problem since.

+1... change to the poly bushings and you will never have this problem again. The stock riser bushing suck something fierce.

Had that problem & the poly bushings solved it. Got 'em from an indy for around $25. They also firmed up the handling real nice.

Had the same thing with mine. Took it back for first service and they acted like they'd never seen it before. It's fixed now but think I'll look into the poly bushings.
