Default Bike not starting

Got a 2000 nighttrain, rode the bike for about 30 miles. went to start it and the bike wouldnt start. You can hear the starter relay clicking but the bike does not turn over at all. the speedo doesnt come all the way on either the miledge display comes on the goes out then comes back on and just keeps doing that. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

Hey Stoneman, did you remember to pull out the choke? I often forget to do that until the bike won't start after a few tries, then it dawns on me, I forgot the silly choke. I didn't have that problem on my Yamahas but, it's a real hassle on the Harley.

sounds like a bad/loose battery connection or the battery is bad. Check the charge rate too

Had similiar symptoms on my 2002 FXD. It was battery cables. clean em and tighten them and good to go.

If it's not the Battery or the cables check to see if your alarm is active. Just a thought.

Battery, like everyone else said. Either connections or maybe it's toast. I'd try to charge it if you have a charger first, if it is not the connections.

My battery died over the weekend. No clicking from the relay at all, just one click and everything died. If your battery is the original, it's due.
