Default 03 night train slapping sound fron the left

i have an 03 night train i get this slapping sound from the left like its the chain hitting the case or i commonly discribe it as the wieghts in a clutch comming out and smacking the case i took the cover off the chain looks like its tight but who knows when its under load didnt see anything jump out at me
oh and buy the way it happens when maintaining speed or slow cornering off a light and in any gear but i can never mimick it or pin piont where exactly it is but it does come from the left and it seems to come from the front of the primary near as i can tell can only chatch it for a second or two while driving never on the stand
any help would be good plan on doing the dragon at the end of june and would like to solve it before doing the long trip
i noticed it last sumer for the first time

You might want to check the tension on your primary chain.

Check your cam chain tensioners next. How many miles on the bike?

I think he means plus 1 as in he agrees. Check your cam chain tensioners. Get a service manual. Remove the cam cover on the right side of the bike and pull back the shoes and get a look at them. Beyond that I don't know.
