Default Examples of Softail versatility?

I bought a Softail Custom because I wanted a cruiser, and then figured out that sometimes I also want a touring bike. So I've spent a ton of time making a "convertible". The new chrome lowers and tri-bar taillight are on now so it's ready for pics here.

Attached is one pic of the bare bike for around town. Then you can add the removable windshield, bags, rider backrest, GPS, and linbar with fog lights and highway pegs, and it's a good ride for some real distance. Everything is quick on/off except the linbar, which is three bolts and takes a few minutes. The other pic shows it loaded for the road.

Is anybody else out there trying to do two things with one bike? How about some examples? I love the versatility of these softails.

Bike looks good. I wish I had a touring bike in addition to my Rocker, but like most, I can't afford it. I looked at getting a Linbar for long rides. How do you like yours? Here's a picture of my bike when I went on my last long ride (about 1,300 miles over 4 days).

Looks good. I have actully ordered the same front wheel for mine. Being the wheel is heavier than the stock spoke unit, did you find any dif in handling?

Now you just need the speaker system from Kuryakyn so you can rock out to music on the trip and you're set. I actually almost mounted a pair on my rocker but finally realized I probably wouldnt hear them anyhow w/o a windshield

You da man. 1300 miles with all your stuff balanced on that little pillion? I woulda said it couldn't be done! Very cool.
The Linbar is a mixed bag. It was put on yesterday so I've just used it today for 125 miles. It looks better than the HD engine guard that I had on there before, and it is a couple inches farther back, so the foot rest on top and pegs on the side are more useable. Downside is it has thinner brackets and wiggles some; doesn't feel as sturdy as the hd. And I'm not happy with the fit. Two of the three bolts went right in, and the third didn't align well. I had to really lean on that thing to get the bolt in. That puts static pressure on that smaller top bolt and it's welded-in nut so I'm a little worried how long that thing will last before it pops out.

Thanks. I haven't noticed any difference in handling with the Renegade wheel. I worried a little about the larger profile against side winds, but I didn't notice any difference there either. You are going to like it - looks great with the solid rear.
