Default Auxiliary Lighting Kit Question

I purchased a Deluxe auxiliary light kit for my 08 Fat Boy. I have read through the instructions several times but I am not sure what I'm supposed to do with the existing wires that run from the switch box to the old turn signasl which will no longer be used?

I installed these about a year ago and if I remember right you need to lift the tank to unplug the existing turn signals and then plug in the new aux mounted signals. Hope that helps.

Default Auxiliary Light kit

My existing turn signals are mounted to the handle bars. I will be relocating these to the new light bar. The existing wire which is left as a result of the relocation which is comming from the switch box on the handlebar is what I dont know what to do with.

They must be doing something different in 08. My stock handle bar mounted turn signal wire ran all the way back to under the tank; which I completely removed (turnsignals and wires) and mounted the new deluxe aux turnsignals on the light bar.

Not the best picture but you can see the blue and purple wire dangling between the forks below.

Here's one that shows pulling of the turn signals and wiring out of the handle bars.

Thanks for the photos. Did your turn signal wire come from the switch housing?

I'm wanting to do the same to my 07 fatboy adding Auxiliary Lighting, not to electrically inclined to do all of that. Allthough I'm tired of paying HD for everything I need.

They provide pretty good instructions with the kit. I also bought the repair manual. It has been very helpful.

When I installed my lights, I left the old connection to the turn signals (located under the tank) in place and tied it off. I then cut the wires coming out of the switch housing and pushed them up inside (the auxillary lights I purchased came with the turn signals relocated to the light bar).

The wires for the turn signals on mine did not contect to the switch housing they terminated with a plug under the tank. There were in a separate loom than the switch housing wires.
