should I just try tightening the allen screws?
or should I remove the derby cover to have a look, and if so will I need a new gasket?
will I need to loctite the allen screws when I replace them?
thank you for any help!
Make sure when you tighten them up you evenly tighten them in a star pattern. That way you don't have any warpage.

Don't worry about the spring. Most likely it just broke off from somewhere inside your motor and hopefully won't cause to many problems unless of course it should actually be holding something togeather......if so I hope your under warranty .

I agree with standing the bike up and replacing the gasket.

No spring issue, but make sure you have the right wrench.
