Default pushrod tight and wont start

OK well I just replaced my cam rollers and i put every thing back on i adjusted the pushrods exept for the rear cylinder one that is close to the engine it is adjusted to as small as it will go and it is still tight. also i cracked the middle rocker cover. But my engine will not start it will start for maybe a half secound and just keep trying but will never turn over and its like you can year a loud metal noise like the piston traveling or something up and down a loud knocking sound. PLEASE I am desperate for any help.

Sounds like cam timing is off. also sounds expensive at this point, if you hear knocking damage is already done.

What is a cam roller? Did you change the rollers on the lifters? Cam bearings? All of the pushrods are "close to the engine!" If your pushrod is adjusted to as short as it will go that banging might be that looser than hell pushrod rattling around. The lifters need to be at the bottom of their travel and you need to wait 20 to 30 minutes after rotating the engine before you adjust the pushrod. That's so the lifter will bleed down. You do have adjustable pushrods? Follow the instructions for the brand of pushrods you have, some have a 3/8-24 thread which move a shorter distance per turn than other brands which have 3/8 -16 threads. And yes the pushrods are different lengths. If none of this makes sense to you haul it to a wrench who does understand.

Most of the time when you hear metalic banging sounds from an engine it is time to start looking for a problem instead of trying to get it to start.
