I think Thundermax is the way to go. I'll get mine when I can get the coin together. I'll bet the 800 RPM idle sounds way better.

I asked the same question. I was told they would not oil correctly by Harley techs. The guy who wrote the software has probably forgotten more about V-twins than most will ever know, so I trust him, not to mention he has done this on many, many bikes, he runs his at 800rpm idle.

The difference in my bike is AMAZING!!! That useless 6th gear is now a power gear, I can roll-on at 80 mph and be at 100mph in seconds. Its a whole new animal and its not "tuned" yet

Talking How about that discount, brother!!

Road Head.. Just wondering if this 'discount' was from a legit vendor we can all go to or if this was 'family'!! Of course, I'm always in if adoption is available!! By the way, how's it running NOW? I have an 07 Road King with stock EVERYTHING! Was interested in the ThunderMAXX from the beginning but we're talking big bucks when you're talking retail.. Bro!

ThunderMax seems like a great product, would love to have one....can I have yours The low idle would be sweet, I love the EFI, but don't like the unnecessary high idle. I used to idle my carbed Evo's way down and never had "low oil pressure" related problems. I think that is a myth. Maybe get the "Mythbusters" to do a piece on it?

The Thundermax is running great!! I can't believe the performance gains. The fuel mileage sucks... went down to about 28mpg... did I mention the performance gains...lol

28mpg? That ain't right. Are you smelling raw gas from the exhaust? Do you have an AFR printout? If you're running that rich, that can tear your motor up as badly as having it run too lean.

I run a TTS and had a custom tune...I'm getting every bit of power available from my Stage 1, and I'm still getting 42-43mpg. Something sounds seriously wrong with what you've got.

I thinks its because I can't keep from twisting the throttle.

No offense, but I ride pretty hard, and I don't think there's any way I could get my mileage that low unless I went 70 in 2nd gear all the time.

Check your AFR, but I bet you're running really rich.

I don't know who turned it but 800rpm's is about 150 to low to maintain good oil flow in the 96'' just do a search, its been posted all over the place ever since it came out warning about idling too low and what it would do to the motor.

28mpg sucks also. should be even better than stock if tuned correctly.
Most B motors get and average 38-41 stock; 40-42 on stg1: mine was right in there.

This spring when the cams went in the mileage went up from 40-41 average to 42-44.

A good tune should make her start better, run flawless, and increase the power.

Well as part of the deal, my bike gets used as a tester. I didn't realize it, but a map left overly rich in the decel area was uploaded last week. This was done without my knowledge so I would not perceive changes. The adjusted map has been uploaded, so I'll keep you posted on the changes.
