Just part of the deal.....I'm good with it. The test were mainly based around the D & D pipe. Its notorious for decel pop and difficult to clean up with out throwing fuel at it. They are just trying to some different ways. Its all good.

Now that I've had some time with the ThunderMax....I honestly say I am very please with all aspects. My bike is set up for power, so it has the fuel being dumped to it. However, on the interstate and cruising highways, its set up to lean out. I'm averaging 30 mpg around town driving aggressively and 40 mpg on the interstate cruising at 80 mph.

The bike does sound amazing. I'll get a sound clip after I get back from my trip in a week or so.

Just read today that not only low rpms is bad for oil flow, it also won't charge the battery enought if that low of idle is maintained...

No issues with idle thus far charging or otherwise.

Glad to hear how much you're liking the Tmax. Have had one on my '07 SG for over two years now. The Harley techs can't get over how well my bikes runs/rides anytime the have a chance to ride it. (Only had it there for warranty stuff).

I have the T-Max in my bike, and it runs like a dream - no decel pop, nice torque and power - but gas mileage could be better. I need to sit down and adjust my cruise range maps to 14.2 as Rbabos suggests (he has helped me out immensely with mine - thanks Ron), but have yet to get around to it. My mileage is all over the place depending on what kind of driving I do. The mileage sucked on my last tank, averaging about 28-30, because I did a lot of stop and go, and two-up riding. On long rides with little stop and go, I can get between 40 and 42, but that's about as high as she goes.

That's exactly what I get. Leaning out the cruise range a bit can net even more highway miles (I'm told), but with power maps, driving around town, cold starts etc. won't get much better than 30mpg.
