Hmmmm....Its a good thought.

I have a thought too.

Wanna hear it? Well read on then Man!!

You have a twin cam now.

Why not pull all that bagger guy stuff off the bike...Sell it in the classifieds and do your Bobber project on the Sloptail you already own?

You know as well as I do once you pull all that stuff of, the tank, the seat, the fenders what do you have?

I know what you would have.

The starting point for a twin cam bobber with that classic carburated sound and a motor you can trust.

Now stop being so selfish and greedy! Strip that thing down. Lots of guys want all that stuff you put on that bike and you obviously do not.

The stuff will sell in one day and give a guy a sweet nest egg towards the Bobber....Sell ity all. Sell those forks, sell the wheels, sell it all cept the frame, motor, tank and tranny. Sell the forks. Sell the fenders. Sell those wheels. Get that chit gone and make way for an exciting new tomorrow!! I betcha get a couple grand for the stuff you dont need and then go buy your springer fork and wheels or whatever your project thoughts are.

Or you could sell yours whole for 11 grand-12K if ya' find a guy who falls in lust. Not love. Lust. Its an 04. Thats all it will ever bring unless you stuff those saddlebags full of Cash or gold?

Lets get a Bobber makeover thread going!! The before and afters photos would be badass.

Honestly? Well, if I was you, I'd look into a nice corvette project, or another car. That would perhaps be something you enjoy more then a bike.
Here is my 2004 FLSTF Fatboy. I purchased the bike new and have ridden it just 5,800 miles
Makes an average of 1160 miles/year. Guess how we call guys with expensive (and beautifull) bikes in their garage, who just don't ride it? The big "P" word comes to mind. I hope some real biker will buy this beauty, and put it on the road, where it belongs.

That's a great idea Chazz...and probably the smarter way to go. But I have so many parts already, wheels, forks, seats, fenders, bars, lights, hand and foot controls, tranny, swingarm, etc... the list goes on and they're all just sitting in my garage. I've been meaning to sell them on ebay for years but I just never do. If I strip down my Fatty the parts will never leave my garage. I'd rather someone else enjoy what I created and leave the bike in one piece.

The Corvette is a great idea but this is a bike forum. Besides I have enough car projects already as you can probably see from the backrounds in some of my pictures. I hope the "P" you are referring to is "PAID"! For the last 4 years I've spent 70+ hrs a week running 4 new car franchises and we've finally sold all but 1 so I now have alot more time on my hands to be a "REAL" biker. See you on the road.

70+ hours a week? So do I, some weeks even more.
I rode 8800 miles this year.
Got a better excuse handy?

Great, now it's turned into a ***** measuring contest relative to the amount of hours someone works. Geez, leave the guy alone. Who cares how much he rides or works, he asked about input on the value of his motorcycle not to be compared to a bunch internet baddasses that want to brag about themselves.

Good luck selling it, it's a cool looking bike.

Take a few pics and list it here with prices in the classifieds. Way easier than the whole ebay thing. Plus no stupid charges if they don't sell immediately. Just keep bumping your thread. Offers will continue to come in

Frenchman, since when does how many miles a year that one rides has anything to do with being a rear biker?? 8800 a year does not make you the top dog in my book, hell alot of us do that in 1 of our summer trips and don't go braggin about it. The word POSER comes to mind when reading your post.

Yup, I'm the poser. Bunch of clowns.

I don't need you to tell me what to do or write. And I never stated that I was a badass. But if you'd like to start messing with me, PM me, and I give you the adress of the bar I work at. All you have to do to get into trouble with me is to start some **** there. You'll meet me a few seconds later.

Since I ride. Since I talk to bikers, who usually laugh at those garage-queen owners. Since RIDING a bike makes you a biker, not OWNING one.

So did I before I came to the US. we (the club I was a member in) used to make norway trips and back. I was tempted to visit my bros in Moscow on the bike, but the road conditions there are more for ATVs then for Harleys.
