Custom Fatboy paint set + Hard bags on a FXST
Yes mod whatcha got. There is so much you can do to the looks of an FX. Look at all the custom trains on here that looks the ****. Hell im actually going to 86 my fatboy front fender when my 23" front wheel gets in from hogpro.
I already bought the paint set and the reason I am going with the fatboy tins is because A: thats the only set they did the paint I want in, and B: I am putting hard bags and a fairing (for a street glide look) on it, so I needed the long rear fender.
A 19" would actually suite me best because its still big enough for the FX front end and has a good proportion to the Fatboy fender. I am afraid my 21 is going to look too disproportionate to the fatboy fender both in height and width. I like the stripped down look for cruising around town, but between my hour drive to work and all the crap I gotta bring to my part time job, I need more storage and want more comfort.
This is really interesting...seeing as im looking at the same thing, only on a 98'. Im too stuck with going fatboy tins, but i didnt know that they would fit up front on the FX. I know the rear will fit on my 150 and seeing as i have the bags on already, the bobtail looks goofy. only reason they went on at the end of the season. Was just going to run the 21/3.25 with a 120x70-21 or dropping down rim size up front. The thin wheel up front on the 21 is just to much movement and lack of control. When im hitting some of the big gaps on the freeway and some of the buckle (from the cold up here) its almost hold on and hope for the best (lol at least it feels that way). But if this works then im into a whole new ball game!? I was wondering this when looking at the stock front fender being that its so narrow with a lot of room there. Im going to check this tomorrow, but keep posting on what your figuring out, i like the idea a lot.
