Lowering a Rocker C
Can it be done? If so, how far can i go down safely while using a regular rocker seat with the 2 up seat configuration? I've noticed a lot of your bikes look really low. Is this something you can only do with the heartland conversion or not?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I was told by a friend who works at a local dealer parts counter to not go more than 2 inches, but since I'm a big guy he said to stay around 1 1/2 inches to be safe. I was looking at a progressive kit. I decided to just change my seat to close the gap. Hope this helped
My recomendation would be to install air shocks. You can have the best of both worlds. Slame it, or have it up, for riding comfort. I had an 09 Rocker with the Heartland kit and the Progressive shocks and let me tell you it road almost like a rigid. Just keep that in mind when you go lowering it. Just my 2.
My experience with the Progressive shocks was the opposite of HotRocs.. I installed them and lowered it almost 2".. With the preload adjusted for me it rides better than with the stock shocks.. I did the Heartland conversion so I don't have to be careful of hitting the rear fender but before I installed the kit I did lower the bike with the 422's.. With the stock FXCW seat on and the bike lowered 2", my seat wore the paint on the fender.. I've read about guys lowering 2" and the trick seat smacking/denting the fender on harsh bumps..
