Default Heritage Softail Classic Backrest

I used to have a Suzuki Boulevard before moving up to a Heritage Softail Classic. I had a backrest on that Suzuki made by a guy named Lonnie Alsteens who has a company called Grasshopper Limited. The backrest was great.

One of the issues I have had with my 2009 Heritage was finding a backrest for it. Well, I looked up Lonnie and he makes one for Heritage Softails years 2006 - 2010. I bought one, installed it, and took a 250 miles ride with it. It is great. Unlike complaints I heard from others that the FireHouse Customs backrest would not fit the newer Heritage if the passenger seat was on, Lonnie's backrest fits with stock driver and passenger seats on with NO problems.

Great product, great price. Non-studded is $110 and the studded is $115.

He also makes it for the Dyna series, 2006 and later.

http://www.grasshopperlimited.com/index.html.

He is little known, but makes a great product.

So, with my 4 inch pullback risers and my backrest, no more back ache for me. Love it.

Looks good. It would be nice if the site had more photos and information.

I just ordered mine from grasshopper today for my '09 classic. Hopefully that will help to prevent me from 'slumping' down when I ride..lol

The grasshopper backrest looks great. I like the idea that it slips on and off. Just for the record, the firehouse customs backrest MUST be used with passenger seat attached. I don't know where the idea that it can't came from. I have one and the instructions clearly state that the passenger seat must be used.

Quick clarification on the Firehouse backrest. For the Heritage 07 and later you CAN ride solo with the backrest. Just confirmed that with the mfg. However with the 06 and earlier years you are correct, you MUST have the passanger seat installed to use the backrest.

I just bought the Firehouse one about two weeks ago for my Heritage. Fits and looks good. I do not have to have the pillion on to use it. Unfortunately I haven't been able to ride to test it out.

Ordered yesterday. Shipping was $10 for priority mail (2-3 days) so assuming they ship today if they have them pre-made or make them as orders come in? could be here by thursday? I will post a series of photos once it gets here.
