Clutch Adjustment
I just adjusted my clutch b/c I changed out my clutch cable when I put on my new handlebars. How can I be sure I adjusted it properly? Is there anything I can look for that would indicate it is not adjusted properly?

RE: Clutch Adjustment
I am pretty sure the free travel movement on your clutch lever should be between 1/8-1/4 of an inch at the very end.

RE: Clutch Adjustment
The clutch has about 1/8" free play before it engages when the lever is squeezed.

That sounds perfect. Time to ride.

RE: Clutch Adjustment
The 1/8' of free travel at the lever is just an indicator of how much slack is in the cable. The clutch adjustment is done inside the primary.
The service manual has a pretty straight forward routine, but I like this procedure from the DIY forum here.
very easy and perfect every time..
