Setting up a TMax the first time can be a bit confusing, a lot of guys seem to get a bit confused by the instructions, myself included.
But once you do get the hang of it, its probably no worse than something like a TTS.
If it has a big advantage over other systems its that it seems to be a lot more tolerant of maps that are 'off' as the Autotune module will quickly try to reset things.
You just have to make sure that you do the update to rezero the base map with the learned offsets as often as needed to keep things running properly.
How long have you had your's on, and have you had any issues with it? Thanks.

Its been in there for over 3 years now without any issues at all.
The only problem I had with it was when I first put it in.
The silly thing is a tiny bit larger than the stock unit and doesn't 'exactly' fit the mounting bolts Harley put into the fender.
The stock nuts have a built in washer and its slightly too wide to fit between the mounting flange with the hole and the body of the unit. So I could only put two nuts on it instead of the four the stock unit uses.
I made some spacers out of aluminum tubeing and got new washers and nuts to hold it on with.
But I never got around to actually installing them. Every time I have the seat off for something I forget to put them in until its too late.
So its still held in the with the original two nuts. Someday I'll remember to fix it, but with my luck I probably won't remember where I stuck the parts to fix it.

Been useing a TM for a year now on my 09 fxstc and love it. it allows you to tune most parameters of the FI system including idle speed, A/F at any rpm or throttle setting. The software is very user friendly after you use it for a while. I have had no problems with it. The auto-tune feature corrects any user setup problems. To me it is worth the price. Look on e-bay and you can find a new one at a discount.

I'd go with Thundermax if my bike couldn't work with TTS. After doing a lot of research I decided I didn't want a piggyback system like the PCIII. I felt it was a lot cleaner to remap the stock ECM (TTS) or replace it (Thundermax). Might be cheaper in the long run too if you can avoid paying for a dyno run.
