Default New Speedo - Dakota Digital?

I really like the look of these Dakota digitals

Any feedback on them as far as lifespan goes? Seems I read somewhere or heard someone say it was busted a year or so later. Thats a few bucks down the tube if it dies right after warranty!

Also curious if you just put in your mileage yourself or have dealer do such that they can "certify" mileage so no questions come time I want to sell the bike...not likely but ya never know...

I've had mine on my deuce for over 3 years no problems what so ever. If you buy one dakota digital is going to have to adjust the mileage for you.

I just got one (MCL-2004) last week. You have an option up to 100 miles or kilometers to change it to whatever you want. After 100, you then would need to send it back to Dakota Digital to be set. You also can go to their site and download the manual. It will tell you most things you would need to know about the model you are interested in.
