Default New Speedo

Just got my new speedometer - digital with an analog tach. Looks pretty cool! The only problem is, it took just over a month to actually get it, and since I've been riding so much, the odometer is off by 700+ miles. Anyone know of a way to change the numbers on my own, or is this a factory thing only?

The part # is 74723-10

Pretty sure the dealer has to unlock it with you actual millage. Sure wish that spedo would fit the 07 models. Anybody here figured out how to mount it on the older dynas?

I planning to buy one of these speedos too. I don't believe you can change the mileage. It's burned in by the factory. When I spoke with the dealer about it, they advised me to estimate my expected mileage on the high side and to change out speedos when the actual mileage on the bike caught up with the mileage on the new speedo. I've held off ordering the new speedo because I have a long weekend ride coming up. I thought I'd be better able to estimate my future mileage after that ride. It's good to know that it takes a month for the speedo to be delivered. My dealer estimated a two-week delivery time.

I bought mine right before I was going out of town for 10 days. The dealer told me she could have it in 2 days, plus shipping time to me - so no problem having it here when I got home. Yeah right! I got a good price (20% off), but will probably eat the savings sending it back in to have the mileage updated this winter...

I have that same one on my Fat Bob. It only took about 7 days to come in.
As far as I know, there is no way the user can change the mileage. You tell them the mileage you want on it when you place the order.
I don't think the dealer can change it either, but not positive on that.

Mileage is set or programed into the speedo at the factory or where ever the dealer actually orders them from, it can not be set or reset by the dealer or sent back to the factory to be reset. Once its programed its a done deal. When you get a new one it will have a tag on the face with the programed in milage...

I have that same speedo, and its awesome. I actually ordered it and had it put on before I even took delivery of my bike, but that was easy because I bought the bike in February and it was still lousy weather here in NY. The first nice day we had was in mid-march, and I hightailed it to the dealer and told em to go get it so I could ride her home! Just a heads up for you guys who haven't seen one up close: The pics always come out showing the backlighting orange or orange/red. When you actually see it in person, the backlighting is a bright red, and it looks even better than it does in the pictures!

I have one too and it was delivered with 300 miles less on it than I ordered and I'd also put more miles on it since I ordered it. Altogether its 1200 miles low now.

What I've decided to do is live with it - not much choice really; I'll remember to get it serviced a bit earlier. On the plus side, when I come to sell it it will have 1200 miles less on the clock .

I've got the same speedo, tach on my bike. Motorcycles ought to have a tach in my opinion. When I ordered it they asked the mileage. It's nice. I like it. However the small indicator lights are difficult to see on a sunny day.
