LED tail light bulb doesn't work?
I might be showing my stupidity here so take it easy on me. I just tried to change the bulb in my tail light to an LED. It worked but my turn signals stayed on bright all the time. I have the HD run/brake/turn module on the bike. Do I need a load equalizer or something?
Your not showing your stupidity, just ignorance.
Stupidity is incurable, ignorance can be fixed with information.
It sounds like you put in a simple LED replacement and its lower resistance value is probably playing merry hell with the electronics in the run/turn/brake module.
So you can either take the LED out and replace it with something like a Sylvania SilverStar bulb (very bright but still an incandescent) that will let the module work properly.
Or leave the LED in and pull the module out.
There is another option where you can rewire the module to operate as a brake/turn only that should fix things.
I did it to mine and with the TriBar and LED turns it works just fine.
Don't even need an equalizer for the turn signals now.
Check out this thread for instructions on how to rewire the module for turn/brake only operation.

And remember there is no such thing as a stupid question, or if there is its invariably the one you don't ask. Cause the answer to that one is likely to be the one that keeps you out of trouble, saves you money, or both.
Ride safe,
