Went to shorter bars because my finger (nerve damage) kept going numb with the apes. I really, really like these bars. It handles 30 times better than the apes, and better than when I had drag bars. They are the perfect width/height to really make this heavy old bike somehow feel nimble (until I start dragging crap!)
Yeah, I'm lucky to live in Colorado. To be legal, we only need 1 mirror, tail/headlight, and a horn. I've never been hassled about no horn. I do plan on putting a mirror on for conveniences sake.
Really clean look I just cant get on board not having mirrors and turn signals Im all about safty over look.

I have a mirror now on the right side (didn't want to get pulled over for not having it). I figure hand signals (and awareness/common sense) are just as good as most signals that people don't tend to see anyway, lol.
Oh, story, I used 'Dei Black Silicone High Temperature Heat Coating'. You can retouch it if it starts to fade real easy. I retouched mine once, just put some cardboard behind the pipes and sprayed away.
Honkylips, did you use the stock brake, throttle/idle cables or did you get longer length cables? I am preparing to swap to 10" mini apes on my Fat Boy and am struggling to figure out what cable length I need. Any cable advise would be appreciated, thanks.

I used an aftermarket cable. I was switching from a different set of aftermarket bars, so I couldn't tell you how/if the stock cables would have worked.
