Default Rear Brake Pedal Clevis Pin Removal

Is there a "trick" to getting this pin out? I can't get a bite on it with grips or pliers and the da-- thing won't seem to come out.

It's a PITA no matter how you do it.

That pin is press fitted in the hole. Keep at it and make sure you wrap surrounding areas with rags to prevent damage when you slip off the pin.

I wrapped a thin piece of wood to protect the paint on the frame and used a common screw driver between the wood and rear of the pin to leverage the pin out.

Needle nose pliers and grip it and wiggle like crazy. Careful not to scratch that chrome if you slip off.

Use a socket over one end of the pin and a C clamp. Place one end of the c clamp on the pin head and the other on the socket. As you tighten the clamp it should push out the pin into the socket cavity.

Love the little graphic JRR, got the bugger out FINALY and put back together but I am gonna use this technique to get the litte crapper back in all the way. Got it in far enough to get the cotter pin in but not enough room for the washer. Like the Doc said what a PITA this little Mod has been. Ah well alls good when it comes to mods and looks right !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm resurrecting this thread because using the C-clamp and socket was the only way I could get that damn thing out! Thanks for the diagram and the help!

I sprayed a little PB Blaster on mine and let it sit for a few minutes. It came right out.
