Default Help on tank emblem, please.

Just bought a pair of Nucklehead emblems (part: 61769-47) for my '07 Springer Classic.

Thought they would just stick right to my softail tank, but defenetly not. I was wrong thinking my softail would have the same tank shape as the Nucklehead

Can anyone tell me if there is any kind of "adaptor" so I can use these emblems on my hd ? Here in Spain it is difficult to find a dealer that knows these kind of things.

It sticked with the adhesive. Problem is that the badge is straight and the tank round.
As you can see in the pics we only managed to put it in a wrong place:

Something like this?

If the emblem needs a curve to it I have had luck pushing down on one while it's on a tire or something round with some give to it. Got to be careful though.

Yep, looks like I'll have to curve it myself. As on the link you sent it says:

"Fits:1947-1950 Harley Big Twin & XL Sportster models"

61769-47 states it's the emblem for 47-50, so that mount should work for that emblem after a bit of fine tuning on the curve.

Good luck.

Edit: Had a thought, I have the 61-62 emblem that is hollow and will not mount without the mount piece. If you have it stuck now, why not just take it off, curve it and re-stick it? Looks like you don't need the mount piece.

If your problem is the different radius of the emblem and the new model tank I've had the same problem. You can CAREFULLY shape the emblem a bit. You can also use two layers of double side body tape on the backing.

Good luck.

Yes, I agree. Peel yours off, re-shape it, and get some 3M double sided tape from any hardware or auto parts store. It is the tape that auto body shops use to attach emblems, and they STAY on better than the tape HD uses.
