Thanks guys I appreciate the support. My wife just keeps rolling her eyes.

Yesterday I hit an electronics connector store and scored an led lighted push button momentary switch for the future garage door opener mod and an led lighted push button on-off switch of the driving light mod. Both will be installed in the dash panel.

I say keep going! look at it this way, your only learning as you go. As long as your keeping your costs down then in the end if its a total loss then maybe buy a new fender. I wanna see this through till paint and instal!

Rnbones I appreciate your confidence. Unfortunately I have decided the 1st fender is a no-go.

One issue I could overcome, the radius diffence between tire and fender. A frame mounted fender has a larger radius because it sits farther above the wheel. It was possible to hide this problem by putting the additional radius to the front, up under the swingarm.

The second issue I could not overcome. The fender had a very "flat" profile. Didn't matter how good the fender looked from the side, from the back it looked like crap and I couldn't fix it. On to fender #2, only $103.50 delivered, delivery within 2 weeks. Still keeping costs down. The first fender was for practice. LOL

I'll move back to the front end. Tomorrow is headlight/driving light wiring. If it goes well I'll be back to the jockey shift.

I started today working on the headlight install. Should be simple right? NOT! Here's the instructions:

I guess a '10 xbones has a reeeeeal shallow bucket! I had to eliminate the original plug, the big rubber bumper on the back of the plug, and bend the bulb connectors 90 deg. It was still a strugle.

Previously I had installed a headlight modulator. Since I had the wiring all apart, I stashed it in a better location.

And finally I wired the dash switches I bought yesterday and drilled the holes for them.

I know, the holes look rough. I said I drilled them, I didn't say I cleaned the holes up. Tomorrow's another day.

Oh by the way, the new fender is sposed to be here in 7 to 10 business days.

Today I finally tackled the horn relocation. I found a perfectly fine, open, threaded, hole above the shocks.

I used a leftover piece from the ss u-bolts I'm using for the sissybar.

One hole for the above mentioned bolt hole, the other for the horn stud. I bent it just a little to give more clearance.

I spent a little time on the shift lever, but put off welding for another day.
