Default Some opinions on bars please...

I want to change the bars on a pretty much stock 06 Heritage. I would like to go with ape hangers and would like some opinions please, right now I am considering 14'' on the stock risers. I am 5'11". I am worried the bike will be uncomfortable after I change them but I like the looks. Can I get some input on the comfort? Also, anybody know a good place to order the bars and all the cables from for a decent price? I have seen some "kits" aroud but they were so cheap I was thinking the cables could be garbage knock offs. Thanks.

I had Burley 16" installed on my 06 heritage last fall and was always under the impression that they would be unconfortable when I seen them on other bikes, but was very surprised when I picked up the bike and rode it home. For the first 5 minutes it took a little to get used to but after that I thought I should have done this a long time ago. Having said that I must also state that due to major back issues I also have the Mustang seat with back rest which removes a lot of pressure off the arms and shoulders, but I really love how great it feels. It even seems to handle better than the stock bars.A friend of a friend did the install and also put on the Harley diamond back braided cables which look great as well. Best mod I've done so far!!

Ok thanks guys, so the cables from hill county customs don't feel cheap or junky compared to the factory ones? If you like them that is probably who I will buy them from, thanks alot.

I went with the Carlini 12" Flin Apes (Carlini bars measure about 2" higher than advertised) and Magnum Sterling Chromite II cables. The cables look like Harley's Diamondback cables. Really nice setup and very comfortable. I'm 5'6" so I was worried about height but the bars are about shoulder height. I have them pulled back a little because that's where they are most comfortable.
