Default 33 inch or 36 inch Longtails

Hello,I am sure this is old news for many of you but not me.(lol)I am ready to purchase Samson Longtails for my 2005 Deluxe and am really struggling with my choice.I like both the 33 inch Longtail and 36 inch Cholo. If anyone has any good side or profile pics of the pipes installed I would love to see them please.I would really like to get it right the first time.I am going to lower the front 1 1/4 and the rear 1 1/2 inches but am not sure if that is low enough for the 36 inch pipes.Sorry to be a bother and thanx for your help.

Realize that if you lower the bike 1.5" the pipes will be extremely close to the ground, and the longer they are the more they will scrape. Length is a personal choice.

I went with 33's since deciding to go with the Shotgun air suspension. Figuring the 33's will be harder to drag. Might go longer later on.

Hippie,

From what I have read on the threads. Most guys regret not going longer. I am in the same boat as you, I am going with the 36" becasue I can't into my parking garage with the 39" IMO get the 36" you might even get 39" later, post pics, cheers!!

I have had this experience myself. When I had my Samson's i started with 28.5" tails on them. I later on got 36". Then I was checking out a bike with 39"'s and thought that they looking insanely sick. If I would have kept my true duals on as opposed to going to a two into 1 I would have had the 39"'s by now, scraping or not.

And when I see TruckBizzz's and everyone else's bike with e 39"'s now I just drool....

My best advice to you is take your time and make sure you get what you want or you will be buying more shortly. I am the perfect example of this with all my purchases.

I've talked to tuners about the BSL's, I've learned and have even seen dyno sheets that prove they lose Tq in below 3k RPM..

wondering if the 33,36,39 inch pipes even lose more Tq or If they're hard to tune..

Anyone have a dyno sheet on them that can post one with the 39's"".?
