Default Advice on boots

I'm looking at buying some boots for riding my harley fatboy. I've been looking at Hustin,Iroquois or Highrise.

When I started riding again, I did the same search. I have worked outdoors most of my life and long ago learned the value of GoreTex boots. I searched for the most waterproof boots I could find. I ended up with Sidi boots. The problem was that european sizes and my feet don't agree well. After returning and breaking in the second pair I found that they are indeed waterproof. Unfortunately they are very uncomfoitable to walk around in, like at a show or ralley.

With my new bike I decided something had to change. I have a pair of GoreTex hunting boots that are 6 years old and don't leak. They are very comfortable and the fact that they are brown, laceup, and beatup looking ads to the karma of my customized Xbones.

Back to your question. I would look for waterproofness and comfort. Hope that helps.

Check out hallssafety.com & hoffmanboots.com. I grew up in a lineman family & these are two of the best. Hall's 10" patch boot is a personal favorite. Their new generation boot comes in black. The hoffman dri-line 10" is probably my next purchase. Haven't had them on personally yet, but hace heard good things about then here at work.

Depending on what style you are looking for, I would say check out Chippewa boots.

My wife bought me a pair for Christmas two years back, They look indentical to the boots Mad Max wears, knee-high engineers, as comforatble as a pair of tennis shoes...

I have the Sidi boots. I had to put some insoles in them but they are extremely comfortable with the insoles, and yes they are 100% waterproof. I have been wearing the same pair for 10 years. They are past due for new soles but i will never part witrh them.

Researched quite a bit & ended up getting Double-H harness boots. Very pleased & great price/quality. They also have lace boots for riding - here's the site:

Good luck w/your search.

You're gonna get a thousand different opinions so I'll just add mine too. I have a pair of Harley Hawkins waterproof boots and love them. Another member suggested Timberland Pro Series Titans and they are the most comfortable boots I've worn to date, and with 2 foot surgeries and uncounted shoes and boots purchased, that says a lot! When you try any boots on, walk around the store A LOT. I've bought numerous shoes and boots that felt heavenly at the store and then hurt like hell after wearing them in the "real world" for a couple of days. Good Luck! Fred

I've got a pair of Doc Marten's that are the most comfortable boots in the world, featherlite, water resistant, and a rubber sole that sticks to the ground even if you step in a oil puddle. They might not fit the "Harley persona", but they have served me well, and feel like a pair of tennis shoes when I'm walking.
