Hey guys, as much as I wanted to leave the stock header pipes on my bike,I have to admit that the new 2:1 black pipes from Rush are Kick A** looking pipes! My question is, how difficult is it to install pipes myself? I've done all the mods to my bike so far, but have never messed with the full system pipes. Am I better off just having the dealer order them and install them with no worries? The pipes come with full instructions including attaching the 02 sensors and everything, but it still looks like a lot to do. Any experienced insight would help!
Changing the exhaust is easy, just follow the instructions and give us a call if you run into any issues. I would recommend having a fuel managment system installed and properly tuned with any full system upgrade. That is usually best handled by a tuner or dealer.

Okay, is there a trick to getting at the rear flange nut on the rear header pipe? The other ones seems easy to reach. I'm going online tomorrow to check out prices!
Dr. V., Thanks! I'll go out and try it again....it really looks tight. I haven't removed the heat shields yet because I haven't purchased the pipes, so I'm just messin' around and seeing what kind of work I'm in for.
pipes are relatively easy. I did mine in a couple of hours and it was my first bike with not a lot of experience working on cars either. I did go running over to my buddy's house to ask him if the smoke coming off the pipes was an exhaust leak. Of course it was just the pipes curing or whatever it's called and went away. Be prepared for that. I highly recommend doing your own work as much as possible since it helps stretch the parts budget quite a bit

I use a 1/4" drive on a long extension and a swivel. Easy that way.
