Default caliper leaking

97 heritage- replaced front caliper with a Bk rider and I have a leak. Put in new bajo bolt and copper washers but leak seams to be coming from lower down and inside - possible the piston or seal. Anyone ever have a bad caliper right out of the box? Any ideas on what it might be and how to fix?

Yes you can get bad ones out of the box. If it's new and leaking, take it off and send it back.

Well... sometimes it doesn't pay to try and save a little. The other recourse would be to return with the restocking charge if any, and get the balance returned to off set purchase of one locally.

If you open it up look and make sure that the piston nore the piston bore have a score on them. Also ensure that the piston seal groove is not buggered up.

Took the caliper apart and reseated the seal. Put back together and bled from top down - works great. I guess some calipers cant be bled from bottom up under pressure - it made the seal leak
