Default 2011Fatboy

My wife just purchased new Fatboy yesterday. She is complaining about finding neutral. I agree it is more difficult Than her 05 dyna or sportster and especially my RK. Is there gearoil in the tranny or engine oil, would that even make a difference..Has anyone experienced the same..Thanks

Depends bike to bike....but yes 6 speed is worse for N. Will get better at about 7 to 10k miles. Do not overkill. Be clutch is adjusted correctly....then use Amsoil severe gear in tyranny hole ....75w140.

Change to synthetics at the 1K service and it'll get a lot better. Congrats to her on the new bike!

Tell her to roll the bike forward or backward a few inches with the clutch pulled in and should have no problem finding neutral after that.

Thats what I do when its being a bitch.....

Thanks all, I was beginning to wonder if this problem was just me. I just bought a new 2010 Fat Boy and have the same problem with finding neutral. Good to know there is hope.

+1 on that. My 2010 Fat Boy Lo was a bitch to find neutral in at first. After 1k service (and changeover to all synthetics) it was a little better, but now with 4k+ miles on it, I can put in neutral with hardly any problems.

Same here-2011 Fat Boy Lo-I wondered if the damn thing HAD neutral at all!

Switched to amsoil at the 1000 mark..I agree though..rolling forward or back well hit it. Going to heavier amsoil in the near future in the tranny.
Almost to 4K...seems a little easier now though!
